A first in France, and likely in Europe, for RHÉOLOGIK with the creation of this unique flatwater canoe-kayak slalom course at the Didier Simon nautical stadium in Mantes-la-Jolie. Located in a small cove of the lake to avoid obstructing rowing and sprint kayaks, the project required considerable ingenuity, supported by extensive calculations, to tension a 115-meter cable that supports the transverse cables and slalom gates. This self-supporting structure, mounted on a 3.2-meter-high steel post supported by reclaimed concrete blocks on one side and anchored to trees with guy wires on the other, allowed for the installation of 12 transverse cables and 24 slalom gates. This sports facility, funded and managed by GPSO (Grand Paris Seine & Oise), complements the existing facilities on the lake and will allow for training of young people from the sports section, learning to paddle a canoe or kayak, and organizing multi-activity youth sporting events.
